Hi,

Anyone actually have anything going with dynamic flash
output?

I have four weeks to get a proof-of-concept together,
and this is my plan:

o use WebMacro to allow designers to specify an SWF
file amongst, and substitution instructions. What these
instructions will be I haven't figured out. Or maybe
WebMacro might not be appropriate for sites that
are completely flash. I don't know yet.

o to do the substituting i will use a commercial tool
if necessary, but there is a java library (that
has a GPL license, but will be moving to Apache)
that is fully capable of parsing/generating SWF
files. The code is clean, and it doesn't look like
it would be that difficult to add some simple
  substitution functionality.

o Come up with some sort of FlashScreen that will
do the substitutions in the backend and output
the modified SWF stream. I know there was some
talk of this, I'll look throught the archives.
But there is an ImageScreen or something that
I could use as the basis for binary output.

The site that I'll be working on will be a history
of science site for kids and it has to be done
in flash, but we need a backend and I'm going to
use Turbine. So I'm going to make this work
one way or another, and I just wondered if
anyone has anything like this in the works or
has had any success with commerical products?
I remember someone saying they were using
Blue Pacific's SWF tool.

jvz.
