Douglas, please don't crosspost your messages anymore. It makes for a broken
conversation for people on one list and not the other. The turbine list is
an acceptable place for now. I'm going to cross post this message one last
time, to just point ECS people at Turbine if they care about further
discussion.

At this point, I'm hesitant about Enhydra because I'm not comfortable with
their motivations for using code. In other words, there is very little
distinction between Lutris.com and Enhydra.org and that lack of distinction
tells me that they are simply trying to use the OSS communities to develop
their code for them vs. simply developing code for the OSS community and
everyone else. These are little semantic games that I'm talking about, but
they do matter because perception ends up being very important.

I would strongly suggest making a case *why* you want to MPL vs. BSD/ASF it.
You have already stated that you want the most amount of people to be able
to use your software without having to worry about stuff. If that is the
case, then the BSD/ASF license is the way to go vs. the MPL. If you choose
to BSD/ASF your code, you will have no problems with any other framework.
Also, have you considered simply contributing this code to Turbine? You will
gain much more market share in that case vs. going it alone. That is the
entire point of Turbine. To provide a single reference point for a large
collection of re-usable web application code that is not based on commercial
interests. Instead, Turbine is based on making developers lives easier. I
think that is a strong selling point for it as well as a good indication why
we have over 30 people contributing to it.
thanks,
