Sounds good, but I don't have sufficient inight into DB tools to really comment on
that.

+1, I was thinking about doing this myself, but I have lot of other things to do,
so go ahead.

I think that it would be better if you had cvs write, to commit your stuff yourself
when it's ready for it. Of course publishig patches before checking in is good idea.
