I asked the WebMacro list what license they would prefer, MPL or an
Apache style license, and the response was Apache. I always try and
do what my user base asks for.
Many of you are committed to the GNU General Public License as
well, and that will continue to be supported in all future versions
of WebMacro. WebMacro may wind up being the only software dual-licensed
under both an Apache style license and the GNU GPL: no license
bigotry here!
I've used the original Apache license with the advertising clause
intact. You may avoid that requirement by working under the terms
of the GNU General Public License instead. I may revisit the decision
to include the advertising clause later, or weaken it, but so long
as someone is actively forking my project I intend to keep it. I
have also added the word "condition" beside "warranty" in the
disclaimer to make the disclaimer work in Canada and the UK.
A snapshot clearly labelled with this license will come out this weekend.
