I checked out using a file with name 3.1.1.0.wm and everything worked okay.
I cannot recreate your situation, so I am having trouble determining the
problem. Of course naming your templates with periods in them is going to
prevent you from later adding a specific java Screen for a particular
template, if it would seem appropriate. But as long as you are able to only
use one Screen per directory of templates it should work fine. Hopefully
some others will have the same problem as you and we can get to the bottom
of it. (Hopefully, for you; I suppose the others wouldn't find it to be
such a great thing :) .)
