I submitted a patch to MM.MySQL to emulate batching support before
MySQL actually supported it (in line with the JDBC 2.0 API). The
latest version still does not have my patch in it, and has no support
for batching (I checked the source code). I have no idea what Mark is
doing. Perhaps you would ask him and let us know?
