You don't need to touch the table. Just use User.setPerm() /
User.getPerm()
for your additional attributes.

Yes, that's what is necessary. There are many people interested in
implementing
this, but I cannot work on it/coordinte it myself (BTW. I'm the
SecurityService guy).
We are waiting for someone to step out and take the challenge. :-)
