I think the jQuery is the way to go now... MochiKit is taking too long to get a new version and as you already said, it shouldn't grow more interesting things. Maybe we could supply MochiKit for backwards compatibility -- we can require that the person activates some key at the configuration file to have it... -- and also ship jQuery as the standard widget JS foundation.
