No, you'd want a moderately long timeout. It would return instantly
the minute a new roll is available; the only reason for the timeout is
so that *if* the server goes offline, the user's browser doesn't get
stuck forever in a holding pattern. The length of the timeout won't
matter otherwise: the rolls should show up instantly.
