It's such a simple application, that a basic one can be made and running in, what, 20 minutes? :-)
It doesn't really matter what the project is, as long as it's something fairly easy to implement, the focus should be on laying out all the features of turbo gears. As well as having very verbose comments and documentation of the code. The idea being that someone who is past the beginner stage, or has previous programming experience, could download the source and almost read it like a book. (I often use my own old code as a reference, when I can't remember how to do something exactly.
