I've had hassle too on an XP machine. The easy_install -Uf command crashed with a security error, trying to overwrite easy_install.exe I think. Now when I try to run it it thinks it has the latest version of TurboGears, but quickstart hangs on the line "Running C:\Python24\python.exe setup.py egg_info".
Does anyone know of an option to easy_install which says "reinstall everything, including the dependencies"? I've been hunting around and can't find such.
