That looks pretty good. Note that you will be using the name of a ForeignKey to access what it is linking to from an object, so to get the name of a type of equipment you would be doing something like:
Equipment.get(id).type_id.name I've found that dropping the "_id" from the column name makes this much easier to type at the cost of not explicitly telling you that you are accessing a foreign key.
