Oh, just saw it. The url is being validated as a valid url. It is not a
required field, therefore, leaving it blank should not cause a validation
error.

Just adding an intitialization of values and submit_action *does*
remove the error. Unfortunately, it also seems to remove the
validation sequence. If I try to add a bookmark but leave out
something that should be there, like the url, the error does not get
caught, and the bookmark is added (without a url, even though it is
required to be there).
No, I think the easiest thing to do is to simply add on the "/add" to
that submit action. Then both the variables are initialized when they
should be, and I have the additional information about whether or not
it is an add or an edit. And save_bookmark certainly doesn't care what
args[0] is, so it might as well be there for both the add and the edit
cases.
There is probably more than one way to solve this problem. But this
works for me, at least right now.
