Be patient with him. Without any proper API documentation on widgets, he's not really to blame. And looking into the source code does not really help either. It's quite easy to loose your way in the inheritance tree of widgets and all these 'value_for', 'retrieve_value_for_path', 'adapth_path' and whatnot methods...
