Thank you for your replies.
Further testing showed that :
a) the query sql is correct and firebird sorts it correctly
(tested with firebird tools like flamerobin)
b) the output of the query is as expected within the
tg-admin shell
c) the issue still shows in the console where the
start script for the application runs .
The only other information I have is that the table
uses UNICODE_FSS as character set. Which may
or may not be the culprit here.
