I'm averaging about 1.5s / page. My site is not particularly complex - I have about 5 main classes in my model with some supporting stuff and 4 main controllers. Nothing really fancy. I was using MySQL but I switched to SQLite to try to speed things up.
I'm running on a VPS with 512Mb RAM on a dual-core X2 with less than 20 VPS's per server and my site probably doesn't get more than 100 hits/day. I realize that I could spend weeks optimizing my code, configurations and all that, but I feel like that shouldn't be required - my site has practically NO traffic. Should i simply expect to have to pay a few hundred a month on a dedicated server to run TG in order to get page loads down to a quarter of a second or so? I've read some posts essentially saying throw hardware at the problem, but that's not really an option for me, and I don't think it should be necessary at the scale i'm working... --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
