As someone who needs 30 hour days I can understand that, as someone who might update a running installation every two or three incarnations of TG only to find that the thing needs to be redone from scratch because some of the relied upon modules are not updated anymore or broken in one way or another wonders if this approach is not a little counterproductive to the TG effort. Looking at your list of possible candidates like widgets,toolbox etc. which could be removed from the core maintained modules I ask myself what will be left ?
