You may be right in that plain SQLAlchemy may be the default setting. However my paragraph above said something else because the document referred to in this thread (http://docs.turbogears.org/1.0/SQLAlchemy) states that "Elixir is recommended for new projects, primarily as it results in shorter code". Having spent a bit of time writing out my model in plain SQLAlchemy, and then converting it to Elixir last night after having read the Elixir docs, I concur with this position, providing that people know what they're 'losing' (or should we say, making less convenient) when they go down this route. Either way, this mismatch between the default 'setting' and the default 'recommendation' is a problem for Turbogears rather than Elixir. I hope that TG will settle on one recommended method and ensure that the majority of their tutorials, walkthroughs, screencasts, and other such demonstrations will use it. > Thanks for the feedback! I'll sign up to the Elixir list and take a look at what's going on. I'll also try and have another look over the Elixir wiki in the near future. -- Ben Sizer --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
