Just wanted to know what others do and whether there is an easiest way 
or common practice for this. Your solution should work, but is also a 
bit complicated, and relying on both Referer _and_ cookies seems a bit 
heavy for me, too.

So I still think TG should provide some basic support for this issue. It 
feels awkward that the paginate decorator does all its magic behind the 
scenes, but then you need to care for keeping the state yourself on a 
very low level. TG should make simple things really simple.
