Ultimately you have to choose between time-based releases or
scope-based releases, and I'll not that Ubuntu's first release was not
pre-announced and was much more scope-based than time based. This
strikes me as a possible necessity, since there's a limited amount of
scope-flexibility in an initial release.

But, I'm definitely trying to move towards time-based releases as we
move forward. I was about to say, it just takes time, which is true,
but kinda funny. ;)
