I had a similar problem on linux. I believe the problem is related to ez_setup.py
download http://peak.telecommunity.com/dist/ez_setup.py python2.6 ez_setup.py Continue your install as is normal. The problem may also be related to a lack of compiled eggs for zope.interface on 2.6.
