+1 on Vim! Been using it for 10 years for a host of languages. I am planning to try out Wing next week. Too many times I end up having 8 or 9 vim sessions running and it becomes a bit cluttered. Wing editor supports VI bindings, so I will give that a shot. Also want to try out the debugger with breakpoints.
