Two separate issues here. First, I don't want to use virtualenv even though I know it is the correct religion.
Issue 1. There are no instructions for using easy_install Turbogears without using virtualenv so one would be led to believe that trying this might have errors. Perhaps the doc could be changed to indicate that using virtualenv is optional here and that you can still use easy_install without the virtualenv setup step even though it might be considered dodgy. Issue 2.
