I see there is a WorkContext interface for local propagation of context

There is a work context but we're not doing much propagation right now (we will need to).
Is there anything
equivalent for propagation of context across remote method invocations?
This is up to the binding to support. Some bindings will propagate certain contexts and others may not be able to.
I
had been assuming this would be needed for conversational support, and
hoping it would be made general enough for other things (QOS) to piggyback
on top of it.
Yep it will be needed for conversational support, but again it is up to the binding to decide how it want to achieve that. Ignacio's been working on propoagation through Axis so he could go into detail how that will work.
