The trade commission has cleared NBC Universal selling WTVJ to the
Washington Post Co., owner of WPLG, Miami's ABC affiliate, which
should probably pave the way for FCC approval:

NBCU and the WaPo are getting away with this duopoly of two Big 3
network affiliates only because Miami is a heavily Spanish-speaking
city and WTVJ, once the city's dominant station when locally-owned,
CBS affiliated and featuring Ralph Renick and Skipper Chuck, has
fallen behind in the ratings to Univision's WLTV and Telemundo's WSCV
(NBCU is keeping WSCV).
