I guess, for once, I'm with the public (or at least your theory about the public), since I thought this debate was a tie. I was unimpressed with both candidates. Both have been actively engaged in dirty campaigning and negative ads, and I thought they came across as two-faced at the beginning when they feigned civility. By the time the gloves came off, McCain's anger was misdirected at Brokaw for letting Obama get the rebuttal time he wanted. Obama, meanwhile, seemed flabbergasted at every word out of McCain's mouth. Both candidates evaded questions, al-be-it more tactfully than Palin. I sincerely hope the final debate, featuring my man Bob as moderator, is better. I hope Bob will interrupt the candidates whenever they drift off topic or attempt to use rehearsed responses. -- Kevin M.
