I had to run to a meeting soon after the debate and did not have time to track the insta-polls and pundit reaction. When I got home I started trying to compile the CNN and CBS results, then noticed that the Kos does it for us, so I paste his numbers below.
Short story is (and luckily for me I was wrong) - the majority of both those who watched the debate on TV and of Undecideds thought Obama won the debate. Obama was seen as the stronger leader and more likable, and McCain was seen as spending more time attacking. Yes, surprisingly, that is how I saw the debate as well. ******************************************* CNN instapoll, MoE 4%: Who did the best job in the debate?
