It was just an impersonation sketch like Jay Mohr's Christopher Walken. 
The implied joke would be that (like Kevin Spacey, Nic Cage, or Jack 
Nicholson) he doesn't disappear in roles very well and that regardless 
of the gig, you'll pretty much get the same affected acting (or rather 
memorization).
