By Andrew Krukowski Memorial Day 2009 is no longer the end of this year’s television season, as Nielsen announced today a revision to the 2008-09 television calendar that will end May sweeps a week earlier. May sweeps for next year are now set for April 23 through May 20. ... Nielsen previously announced that February sweeps would be pushed back to March 5-April 1, due to the Feb. 17 switchover to digital broadcasting. This change excludes the Oscars, generally a major ratings grabber for ABC, from the sweeps period.
