There is new speculation that the next Doctor could very well be esteemed actor Paterson Joseph - acclaimed for his West End performance in Eugene O'Neill's "Emperor Jones," and quite a panic as Alan Johnson, the charismatic boss with an appetite for pleasure, on the Channel 4 sitcom "Peep Show." An alumnus of the storied Cambridge Footlights theatrical troupe, Joseph - as befits the title character in "Emperor Jones" - is black.
