"Crash": The 2004 flick is an Academy Award winning drama written by
Paul Haggis, the 1996 flick is a David Cronenberg thriller about
people who stage car crashes for sexual arousal.

"Ransom" is decent enough viewing if you get the 1996 Mel Gibson flick
but IMDB lists at least seven other movies with the same (or very
nearly the same) title.

Plus, there are the misguided remakes like "Planet of the Apes".
