Pop in a tape where something is recorded from beginning to end. Rewind the tape to the beginning, then press play, then press the fast-forward button so the video is still visible. Let it run that way through to the end of the tape, then rewind the tape, again with the image visible on the screen. The process cleans the heads more thoroughly and effectively than any "head cleaner" ever released, and on occasion it can sort of bump the heads back into alignment so everything records as it should. Oh, if it is a Sony VCR, you might try whacking the side of it really hard with your hand. If that doesn't work, whack yourself in the face for buying a Sony. -- Kevin M.
