I don't have any guilt about this at all. It sounds like Amanda Peet's problem is she does a lot of vanity recording and then can't admit how low her brow really is. If you don't want to watch "The War" then don't watch it, and stop recording PBS. With TiVo, you are better off recording what you actually want to watch, and not what you want your visitors to think you like to watch. I fairly often set season passes for programs that I later find I have no interest in watching - and I can't always say why. I had 5 episodes of that motorcycle gang show from FX on my TiVo for a long time, started watching the first one, turned it off after 10 minutes and deleted both the rest of the episodes and the season pass. I had a similar experience with the Lewis Black show, even though I like him on TDS. I just found that I did not enjoy him in more than 5 minutes bites. While I don't have guilt, I do sometimes have regret. I got a season pass for 11th Hour, never had time to watch it, and then forgot about it, until I noticed that they were systematically getting bumped. I now have the two most recent episodes but none of the earlier ones, and will probably just give up on it for now, and try to catch it later in re-runs or DVD. The closest thing I have to TiVo guilt I do have is over a show like "Pushing Daisies". I purposely saved them so I could watch them all in a Christmas Break marathon, and now find that the show has been canceled. Is it possible that some Nielsen family that represents me did the same thing, and we are responsible for the cancellation? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Like TV only smarter.
