I don't want to leave the wrong impression.

There's nothing wrong with Cynthia Stevenson. She looks great and she was fine
in the role. The problem was the role. From the two episodes I saw, her
character does little else but whine. She shouldn't be faulted for being
unable to overcome that kind of writing.

During the taping, I kept expecting someone to ask when the show would be
aired. But unlike just about every other taping I've been to, no one did.

In fact, Mark Sweet, by his silence in particular on the subject, left the
impression that the show was currently airing. And, no one in the audience
cared enough to ask. There were only a handful of audience members like me --
in fact, I was given a seat on the front row, which has almost never happens --
and the remainder of the audience was groups (there to make a quick buck for
their organizations) and VIP guests of the cast and crew.

I learned that Bob Saget and Mark Sweet have been friends for many years; Sweet
even introduced Saget's mother Dolly to the audience. Saget did take the time
to talk to the audience at the beginning of the show, and I always like it when
that happens. I think the star of the show should always take the time to do
it -- and most do.

This was supposed to be part of the MRC-controlled Sunday night CW lineup, but
wasn't ready for the fall, so got postponed to the spring. Since The CW ended
that arrangement, I don't know where it's going to end up now--I assume the
warmup guy didn't say anything. I'm almost guessing that they'll sell it to
Lifetime or TBS, since those channels seem to be interested in old school
multi-camera sitcoms.

I'm sorry to hear that Cynthia Stevenson grated on you in performance live--I
think she's utterly delightful in almost everything I'm seen her in ("Men in
Trees" most recently, along with one helluva ensemble that made up for Anne
Heche as the star).
