McCain didn't support the Fairness Doctrine, Obama didn't support the Fairness Doctrine. Yes the Amy Goodman crowd likes to bring it up. And it popped up with the tinfoil black helicopter wingnut blew away the pro-gay Unitarian Universalist congregation in Knoxville and it was leaked that he had O'Reilly's, Hannity's and Michael Weiner Savage's books. The only people talking about The Fairness Doctrine at this point are Rush Limbaugh and James Dobson, because they like pretending to be powerless victims. And the only reason the Democrats got any traction pretending to bring it back is because pissed off REPUBLICAN congressional leadership started complaining about Limbaugh and Dobbs interfering with Bush's immigration bill. It's pretty much a straw man for the Hannitys and Imuses to drag out so that they can complain when they have to pretend to give the other side's opinion instead of, you know, actually giving air to the other side's opinion. The mainstream media (oh right, Rush and Hannity are the mainstream media) THE DRIVE BY MEDIA who prevented Daschle from being seated are the same people who prevented Sarah Palin's coronation as well. But guess what ... Olbermann and Maddow are the hot flavors now. Rush Limbaugh has to contract Falwell Syndrome to get attention and Hannity and Imus are irrelevant. They gotta pretend the evil corrupt government (which is now the opposite party's) really finds them and Joe The Plumber a threat. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ TV or Not TV ....
