For mid- and small-markets (like mine, in the high 110's), there tends to be much more rural territory, unserved by cable. And while satellite penetration tends to be a bit higher, it's not enough to really make an impact. There are lots and lots of folk with rabbit ears/rooftop antennas/small towers in the backyard. If you go digital, you have to get your viewers to come along with you. Essentially, you're betting your ratings on everyone being prepared.
