"Thin Ice," the first of the Jesse Stone MOWs not based on a novel by Robert B. Parker, will air March 1st on CBS. Tom Selleck returns as the lead character, but gone from the TV film franchise is Viola Davis, who recently acted opposite Meryl Streep in "Doubt." Kathy Baker's character Rose now recurs in her place.
The previous Stone MOW was a hatchet job of the novel on which it was based. Nevertheless, I'm holding out hope that the new movie will bring back the spirit of Parker's character. -- Kevin M.
