The Remote Patrol for February 26, 2009 by Thomas Allen Heald, Rocketman All times Eastern, for PBS programs, check local listings --- TOM'S TOTALLY TWISTED TV TRIVIA THINGY Where are they this season on "Survivor," anyway? A) Brazil B) Chile C) The Gabon D) Guatemala E) The Philippines
Friday brings the correct answer, and brings out your dead. --- Our top story: 8 p.m. "UGLY BETTY" (ABC) discovers someone's taken all the money at Mode, but the real crisis is what her ex Henry is saying about her on Facebook. IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT PEANUT BUTTER, CHARLIE BROWN (I) Elvis Mitchell plays shirts and skins in "THE BLACK LIST: VOLUME TWO" (HBO) against Marjora Carter, Kara Walker; Angela Davis, Suzanne de Passe, Laurence Fishburne, Maya Rudolph, Barbara Harris, Gov. Deval Patrick, T. D. Jakes, Dr. Valerie Montgomery-Rice, Tyler Perry, Melvin Van Peebles, Charley Pride, RZA, and Patrick Robinson. SKA-DOOSH (BAGS) "My Name is Earl" takes a week off so that the network can air "SECRETS OF THE FURIOUS FIVE" (NBC) an infomercial for the sidekicks in the Oscar-losing Animated Feature "Kung Fu Panda." The 'toon was sold as an extra disc with the DVD release. Of course, it's really just NBC's attempt to lower expectations for anything opposite the "AMERICAN IDOL RESULTS SHOW" (Fox), in which we find out whether or not America is willing to keep Team Glitter Sweatbands on the show just to torture Simon. And whether having nice legs is enough to win a singing competition ... and not just for Team Glitter Sweatbands. Something involving sand/dirt and a betrayal and a twist happens on "SURVIVOR: WHEREVEWEAH" (CBS). 8:30 p.m. "KATH & KIM" (NBC) is still on. 9 p.m. IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT PEANUT BUTTER, CHARLIE BROWN (II) Author Lee Hawkins offers his own black list for the evening of "NEWBOS: THE RISE OF THE NEW BLACK OVERCLASS" (CNBC). On his list of African-American zillionaires with Horatio Alger stories: Sean Puffy Comby P. Diddy Daddy Combs, Kirk Franklin, Torii Hunter, LeBron James, Wyclef Jean, Bob Johnson, Terrell Owens, Lil' Wayne, and the Williams Brothers. There's sabotage afoot in "HELL'S KITCHEN" (Fox). And that foot is battered and deep fried. Mmmmmm, foot. 9:30 p.m. Tracy Jordan does his thang on Larry King Live sending New York into an even bigger panic than the "Cloverfield" monster on "30 ROCK" (NBC). 10 p.m. Noah Wyle is adorable once again on "ER" (NBC), if only he could figure out how to poke people back on Facebook on the County's oh so complicated computers. TELE-GEBRA "Spectacle with Elvis Costello and ..." + "Shatner's Raw Nerve" = "THE CHRIS ISAAK SHOW" (Bio). Since his Showtime sitcom wasn't ... "According to Jim," we're willing to give Isaak a look-see. Even if his first guest is Trisha Yearwood. TALK TALK * Bryan Cranston and Becky Quick break bread with Tavis. * Jon has news for Brian Williams. * Colbert gets cross with Kris Kristofferson. * "The Late Show with David Letterman" repeats the Andy Kaufmanesque performance by Joaquin Phoenix --- But the conversation has just begun, add your own suggestions or discuss mine on the "TV or Not TV" Google list or at tvornottv.net.
