Not only was this weekend's "Saturday Night Live," hosted by wrestler-
turned-actor Duane Johnson a.k.a. The Rock, one of the funniest of the
year (yes, yes, YMMV), my new TV crush (and 1st SNL castmember to be
the offspring of a previous castmamber) Abby Elliott had her largest
precentage of airtime so far. But the real treat was an unannounced
appearance by singer-actor Justin Timberlake (who has become a
recurring surprise guest) and his gal-pal actress Jessica Biel in a
Weekend Update sketch. Timberlake played Irving, schlub husband to
whiny comic strip Everywoman/kvetch Cathy (Andy Samberg in slovenly
drag). Priceless. Then, Biel showed up in an anatomically exaggerated
costume as cartoon vamp Jessica Rabbit, enticing Irving to leave
Cathy, and certainly cutting a memorable figure. Let's just say that
Ms. Biel will my slink through my dreams in that get-up for a long
time.
