One of the better responses came from Doug Benson, one of his guests and the one whose Edmonton comedy date was cancelled because his personal safety wasn't guaranteed. He went on CTV Newsnet, one of the all-news channels up here, and very specifically said, "I wasn't being misinterpreted. I said some stupid things, some uneducated things, and I am sorry." He's said he won't appear on Red Eye again (though why he needed this as an excuse, I'll never know).
I thought it quite refreshing that he directly contradicted Gutfeld's non-apology apology, and did so to a directly Canadian audience.
