WWJ, the CBS-owned Detroit station that hasn't had a news department
since 2002, when Viacom merged the Paramount stations and Detroit CW
affil WKBD into CBS (and then only for a few years after CBS hurriedly
bought a two-bit UHF station after Fox swallowed up long time affil
WJBK in its buyup of the former Storer stations), is going into the
lucrative morning news game in May, but with news coverage provided by
the Detroit Free Press and traffic and weather from WWJ (more likely
CBS-joint-owned Metro Broadcast Services, not CBS' radio station of
the same call letters):
