That's a shame. Berman is a great sportscaster, and while "Spanning the World" isn't exactly an original concept, it's always welcome. I assume he'll take that segment (if not Don Pardo's into) with him into that good night...
Just FYI, the whole "reapply for your job" thing isn't just at WNBC - it's a corporate thing. I have a relative in the Sales division, and she's going through the same thing.
