You are the program director at an NBC affiliate. You're antsy about ratings
for the new Leno show in the fall, but you're more wary of what almost happened
to WHDH/Boston earlier this year.

First, consider each news option:
(A)You have only an 11:00 (ET) newscast.

(B)You also run a 30/60-minute newscast at 10 on the local {CW, Fox, MyNet}
affiliate.
=>(B1)The 2hr net affiliate is co-operated or is on your digital subchannel.
=>(B2)The 2hr net affiliate is operated by another company in the market.

(C)You simulcast your 11:00 news on the co-operated {ABC, CBS} affiliate.

(D)You don't air a newscast.

Then, consider your newscast's ratings:
(A)You're the market's news leader.
(B)You run a strong second/third.
(C)You're a distant third/fourth.
(D)You're trying to avoid Ion's hashmarks.

So make your choices, and tell us what happens.
