First, the Daily Telegraph does an expose on members of Parliament with their hands in the taxpayers' cookie jar. Then an MP goes on the BBC's digital all-news channel News 24 and defends himself by asking his questioner, anchor Carrie Gracie, how much *she* makes from her license fee-supported bosses. She answers almost 100,000 pounds a year and becomes an instant punching bag on live television. Then comedian-actor Stephen Fry, directly or indirectly a BBC employee for much of his career (currently indirectly as host of BBC1's panel quiz "QI," produced by Fremantle's TalkbackThames), goes on BBC2's "NewsNight" and proclaims on live television that journalists don't have the right to question politicians about how corrupt they are--hoo boy:
