I caught tonight's Countdown and the number one story was a look at "Letterman's Revenge." I confess to being unable to watch Dave since the apology, and my intent is not to rehash that topic. What I wanted to note is that, based on what Keith O. said and the clips he showed, Letterman hasn't gotten any revenge against anyone. It would take very little for someone of Dave's intellect to eviscerate someone using nothing but words. If revenge was what he was after, the jokes would be very different. Dave seems content to let the apology stand, and to toss softballs at Palin instead of heaters. I'm not suggesting Dave revert to the level of insult comic, but lambasting public figures is a late night comic tradition, and jokes about her shoes isn't the edgy Dave I used to know and used to love. But you tell me:
