Sonia was a protege of Robert Morgenthau, who was the basis for the great Adam Schiff on Law and Order, and Morgenthau as been brought up repeatedly in the hearings. Sonia is not exactly Abbie Carmichael, since Abbie was a Texas, "hang em high" conservative, but she was a rising star in the office.
Under questioning from the senior senator from MN, Sonia just told a longish story that included the report that she was deeply influenced by TV's Perry Mason (with a little IMDB type summary of the show for the young people).
