Interestingly (or maybe not), Comcast is advertising the availability
of a 'digital transport adapter' - essentially a stripped-down version
of a STB that provides all digital channels but doesn't appear to
include on-demand or a program guide. The adapter comes with a remote
control and a remote IR receiver, in case you want to hide the adapter
deep in the recesses of your entertainment center. From what I
remember reading, Comcast is charging subscribers about 1/2 as much
per month for the DTA as they are for a standard (non-HD, non-DVR)
STB. Considering that I abhor the Comcast on-screen program guide,
and I barely ever use VOD (my main TV, the one with the TiVo &
CableCard, doesn't even have VOD), I may make the switch for my
bedroom TV.

Well, if I don't switch to FiOS, that is.
