A couple of articles pegged to my google homepage this weekend
reported that SNL was one of the comedy shows that made Dave the
victim of "the same kind of jokes he has told on others" (words to
that effect).

I fell asleep last night before Weekend Update, but when I watched it
today I only head two references to Dave, both in Update. One was a
joke about the blackmailer getting arrested for trying a "stupid human
trick". The other was a rather mild joke about Dave, something to the
effect that after sex he says "stay tuned for Craig" (I guess the
specific set up makes that punchline make sense somehow, but I don't
remember how). Neither of these jokes were particularly hard hitting -
SNL was much tougher on Obama (who, despite the hysteria of the
Palin-etts, SNL has consistently been rather tough on) than they were
on Dave.

I did not see Kimmel Friday night, nor read anything about his show.
Leno (Which I saw and can confirm) and Fallon (media report) both had
Dave jokes. I don't know what the Fallon jokes were like, Leno's were
moderately tough in tone, but fair and (for him) fairly funny - I
think he had 2 or 3. Conan specifically and pointed refused to tell
any Dave jokes. I assume Ferguson had no Dave jokes Friday (oh wait, I
think I read his was previously taped also), and neither TDS nor CR
are produced on Fridays.

So, by that crude reckoning, of 8 comedy shows that would normally do
jokes on something like this, since Thursday night, 3 have (all on
NBC, though SNL was very tepid) 1 did not (Conan, also on NBC), 3 have
not produced new shows yet, and 1 is unknown by me (Kimmel). I guess
Monday night will be the best indicator of how this works out. Stewart
in particular has always seemed to hold Dave in high regard, so I am
particularly interested to see how he handles it, and if Conan breaks
down and gets into it next week (I assume Conan feels some loyalty not
to pile on Dave, since Dave helped give him credibility when he
started out).

I would assume that Dave himself would not hold it against any of his
colleagues if they did tell even frequent jokes - particularly if they
steer clear of his wife and kids (though I suppose Pallin will start
telling a joke about Jay Leno accidentally boinking Lasko on trip to
Burbank). All things being equal Dave would tell a lot of them on
himself - but that will be difficult to do under these circumstances
without seeming like he was bragging about his own bad behavior (which
he was even accused of doing last Thursday).

Dave's Friday Night show was confusing - all the reports are it was
taped second Thursday, after Dave's revelation, but the exchange he
had with Larry David went on as if nobody but Dave knew the secret.
Larry David says something like "I have tied your record for having
the least sex by any man with his own television show". Dave kind of
dips his head and says something like "I don't know about that". The
audience laughs a bit, but mostly not with that knowing nervous or
hysterical laughter you might expect if most of them knew the story. I
guess some in the audience had heard the media reports, and maybe even
street rumors, but it seemed clear that Larry David had not heard
about it, and they probably did not replay Dave's revelation for the
second audience on the monitor before the show began. I may have been
reading too much into it, but I thought Dave seemed to take an extra
deep breath right before he started his monologue.
