Meredith-owned KCTV outsourced sports a few years ago. I remember
seeing a report a little while back from The ex-Chief that some of
KCTV's executives have moved to WGCL, so I guess that was one of the
ideas they brought with them.

I'm kind of surprised I don't hear about this sort of thing happening
more frequently, given what the internet and multi-channel ESPN have
done for the availability of sports scores and highlights (and thus
the draw of the nightly sports report.) KCTV and WGCL are the only
ones I can think of that have actually outsourced, but I know that
Clear Channel shares some sports resources (and branding) between WOAI
TV and their sports radio outlet in San Antonio.
