The outsourcing in Kansas City was to Metro Sports, a Time Warner-
owned regional cable channel that still straggles on with minor pro
sports and college and prep games after they lost the Royals to Fox
Sports Net Midwest.
I should point out that WQXI was a notable Top 40 station in Atlanta
in the 60s and 70s ("Quxie in Dixie"). One of their alumni is "WKRP"
creator Hugh Wilson, which makes you wonder that it was WQXI's general
manager who thought with God as his witness that turkeys could fly.
